Questions, answered
Custom cakes need 48 hours of notice. Everything else on the menu is same day. Pickup only, at 5303 S Telegraph Rd. Prices run $1 to $11.
How much notice does Aya need?
- Two days for a custom cake. We'd rather give it the time than rush it. Shakes, waffles and fried Oreos are usually there same day, though it's worth ordering ahead if you need a specific pickup time.
Is there a deposit?
- Sometimes, on custom cakes, to hold your date. If yours needs one we'll tell you when we get back to you, so there's no surprise at the counter. Everything off the menu is just paid when you collect it.
How do I pay?
- Cash or card when you pick up.
Do you deliver?
- Not yet. Everything is collected from the shop on S Telegraph Rd in Dearborn Heights. We'll text or call to sort out a pickup time once your order comes through.
What about allergies?
- Read this one properly. The kitchen works with dairy, eggs and tree nuts, and it is a small kitchen, so nothing made in it can be called allergen-free. Put your allergy in the order notes and we will do what we can, but if a reaction would be serious, this is not the right kitchen for you, and we would rather say that than risk it.
Can I change or cancel?
- Yes. Just tell us as early as you can. Before we've started is easy. Once a custom cake is underway it gets harder, because by then it's already partly yours.
