Terms & Order Policy

Updated 17 September 2026. Plain terms for ordering from a one-person bakery. Written from how Aya actually works, and not by a lawyer — have it reviewed before relying on it.

All sales are final

There are no refunds. Everything is baked to order in a small kitchen, so once an order is paid for and collected it is yours. If something is wrong with what you were handed, say so at the counter or call the same day — we would always rather know.

Changing or cancelling is not the same thing

An order we have not started yet can still be changed or cancelled — tell us as early as you can and it is usually straightforward. Once a custom cake is underway it gets harder, because by then it is already partly yours. That is a conversation, not a refund. Where a deposit was taken to hold a date, ask us what happens to it when you book, so nothing is a surprise later.

Ordering

Custom cakes need 48 hours of notice. Shakes, waffles and fried Oreos are usually same day, though it is worth ordering ahead if you need a particular pickup time. Orders are placed by phone, text or in person on (313) 429-9095 — there is no checkout on this website.

Pickup and payment

Pickup only, from 5303 S Telegraph Rd, Dearborn Heights. Nothing is delivered. Payment is cash or card when you collect. Prices are what the menu says on the day; a custom cake is quoted when we get back to you.

Allergies

Read the allergen answer on the FAQ in full before ordering. It is the one piece of writing on this site that is kept word for word and is not summarised anywhere, including here.

Photographs

The cakes on this site are Aya's own work, photographed in house. A custom cake is made to your brief and will not be identical to a photograph of somebody else's.

This website

What the site collects, which is almost nothing, is set out on the privacy page. Hours and prices are kept current, but a small bakery has days that do not go to plan — if a pickup time matters, call ahead.
